Sharifah Namirimu, Ms.

Sharifah, a nutritionist, worked for over four years in various hospital settings and served many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) before joining Nurture Posterity International. She holds a Bachelor’s in Nutritional Sciences and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management. She has recently started practising as a Certified Public Accountant. She has brought many skills to our team, not only in nutrition but also in Accounting and Finance, Records Keeping and Financial Audit.

Henry Turinawe, Mr.

Henry worked for over five years as a Nutrition (Project) Officer at the Lutheran World Foundation (LWF). He holds a Bachelor’s in Dietetics and a Master’s in Public Health (Health Promotion). His understanding of the Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) model and experience in Maternal, Infant, Young Child and Adolescent Nutrition (MIYCAN), food security and malnutrition are relevant to Nurture Posterity International. His experience in screening for malnutrition and coordinating projects helps improve the lives of poor people.

Margaret Nabukenya, Ms.

Margaret, a nutritionist, worked for many years at Action Against Hunger (AAH). She works as the Food Security and Nutrition Advocate at the Food Rights Alliance (FRA). In addition to her Bachelor’s in Nutritional Sciences, Margaret holds a Master’s in Food Security and Community Nutrition. She has brought project management, capacity building and workshop coordination skills to Nurture Posterity International. Her work helps people living in poverty achieve their fundamental right to food.

Shafik Kimbugwe, Mr.

Shafik trained as a civil engineer and has been practising for over five years. He holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Higher Diploma in Civil and Building Engineering. He is the Director of AMSHA Technical Services and General Supplies Limited. Shafik not only brings Building and Civil Engineering experience to Nurture Posterity International, but he also brings experience in logistics and supply chain management.

Jane Namala, Mrs.

Jane, an Agriculture Extension Officer, has worked at civic organizations for the past eight years. Jane holds a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Sciences and a Master’s in Environmental Sciences. Jane joined our team with experience in tackling climate change and environmental degradation by offering training on regenerative agricultural practices. She strongly advocates for the health of the people and the planet at Nurture Posterity International.

Paul Ofwono, Mr.

As a biology technician, Paul holds an Ordinary Diploma and a Bachelor's in Biology Technology; for the past three years, Paul has been testing the active ingredients of drugs in CIPLA's Laboratory. Paul translates scientific theories into solutions that solve real-world problems. He applies his skills to formulate products and has been testing composite flours for school feeding. Paul uses his microbiological testing skills to help nurture a food-based innovation at Nurture Posterity International.

SHADIA NALUTAAYA, MRS.

Shadiya has practised in the private sector under various local organizations in staff recruitment processes and welfare management. She holds a Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management. Shadiya joined Nurture Posterity International, and she manages the process of outsourcing along with the rest of the team, qualified and competent staff for employment opportunities on fixed-term contracts.

Abdurrahman Lule, Mr.

Abdurrahman has practised for the past five years in the humanitarian sector to help those living with HIV to overcome poverty and hunger through Khair Relief Organization (KRO), a faith-based charity organization he cofounded in 2018. He holds a Diploma in Education (Chemistry) and a Bachelor’s in Science Education (Biology). Abdurrahman joined Nurture Posterity International to strengthen and nurture the organization’s partnerships with different local organizations whilst building capacity for delivering feeding programmes in schools.

Swabula Nanfuka, Ms.

Swabula completed her Ordinary Diploma in Plumbing Services and worked as an Assistant Field Supervisor at the National Water and Sewage Cooperation (NWSC). She further studied for a Bachelor’s in Environmental Technology and majored in Hydrology and Water Resources Management. She joined Nurture Posterity International to support advocacy for our ongoing efforts to minimize climate change and environmental degradation. In addition, Swabula works on the Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH) programme adopted by our team.

Sulaiman Ssempa, Mr.

Sulaiman has worked for the past ten years as a manager for many general mill companies. He completed a Certificate in Management and a Diploma in Public Administration. Before joining Nurture Posterity International, Sulaiman had supported locally emerging mills to improve their production and turnover rates. He works on the NutriPosh project.

Miriam Linda, Mrs.

Miriam has practised as a graduate trainee at Kabarole Research and Resource Centre (KRRC) in the past few years. She holds a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Before joining our team, Miriam participated in family management and online research training programmes. She brings skills in Infant and Young Child Feeding (i.e., breastfeeding and complementary feeding) and the management of malnutrition in all its forms to Nurture Posterity International.

Najib Kasinga, Mr.

Najib has practised for the past five years as a Medical Clinical Officer at many local hospitals. He holds a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health and a Certificate in Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI). Najib joined Nurture Posterity International to work on primary health care projects, especially programmes that reduce mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDs in populations affected by extreme poverty.

Abdurahman Jjumba, Mr.

Abdurahman is a lawyer who has, for over three years, practised with Adil Advocates and Solicitors. He holds a Bachelor of Law and a Diploma in Legal Practice. Before completing his Bachelor’s in Law, Abdurahman worked at Focus Batteries (U) Limited. In addition, he taught theology to children. He has brought his experience in legal practice, transaction and tax law to further the work of Nurture Posterity International.

Lawrence Kawuma, Mr.

Lawrence, a drug dispenser, has worked at various medical centres, clinics and pharmacies for the past three years. He holds a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Lawrence joined Nurture Posterity International to work on community health projects as a passionate professional dedicated to improving the lives of poor people living with non-communicable diseases through dispensing drugs.

Mahazi Mugoya, Mr.

Mahazi is a passionate health worker who has served in many private medical centres and clinics over three years. He holds a Diploma in Orthopedic Technology. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery. He joined Nurture Posterity International to work on its primary healthcare projects, giving special attention to oral hygiene to improve the overall health of poor people.

Allan Nandala, Mr.

Allan co-founded SIMBI VISUALS, a firm through which he applies his front-end experience using WordPress, React, Unix/Linux Operations and OSS to design and construct highly customized websites enriched with graphics design. He holds a Bachelor’s in Information Technology. Allan has joined Nurture Posterity International to build and maintain its website, drawing upon his years of experience in the web development space.

Sheba Kamwesigye, Ms.

Sheba, an experienced Nutritionist in clinical and refugee settings, has worked on food security and maternal and child health projects in the past three years. Sheba holds a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition and a Master’s in Food and Nutrition Policy and Programs from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University. As a Nutrition Consultant for Tufts University in collaboration with Cargill International, she develops SBC messages for Animal source protein for Kenyan and Indian populations. Sheba has brought her experience in food and nutrition policy to Nurture Posterity International to help transform the food system of poor people.

Ibrahim Kasujja, Mr.

Ibrahim has worked with the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Consultants on Food (In)security and Hunger measurement. He holds a Bachelor’s in Nutritional Sciences and a Master’s in Applied Sciences from Canada’s McGill University. Ibrahim invented NutriPosh composite flours for school feeding; and the Day Scholar’s Food Insecurity Experience Scale- Survey Module (DSFIES-SM) for school hunger measurement. He has experience in food safety and food processing technology as well. Ibrahim is a director at Nurture Posterity International, but also currently works with the Centre for Global Mental Health (CGMH) research group at King’s College London; to investigate the links between Global Mental Health and Global Food Security.
